Ordinary Bluetooth USB adapters require complete Bluetooth software installation, using the PC memory and processor in order to communicate with the simple radio residing on the USB adapter. For example, the popular Widcomm Bluetooth software included with many other, standard USB Bluetooth adapters, uses over 30 MB of disk space, and contains dozens of individual software programs and libraries. Because our embedded USB adapter contains it's own microprocessor, memory, and firmware, no additional software is required. Only a simple virtual COM port driver is needed to communicate with our USB adapter through the USB port. By deploying a KC Wirefree embedded Bluetooth USB solution, customer service calls due to installation problems are eliminated.
